Set up your shop

The shop turns your website into an online store. You add products, customers put them in a basket, and they pay you without leaving your site.

It is switched on per project, so a project has a shop only once you turn it on.

Note

Whether the shop is included, and on what terms, depends on the package you bought. Check with your provider if the option is not available in your project.

Turning it on

Open the Shop section

In the CMS, select any option under the Shop section.

Activate it

On the right pane, click Activate Shop.

Your shop is created with a handful of sample products so you can see how everything looks before adding your own.

What to do next, in order

The shop has a lot of screens. This is the order that avoids rework:

  1. Shop settings — currency, address and time zone. Do this first, because changing currency after you have priced everything is painful.
  2. Add products — delete the samples, add your own.
  3. Product options — sizes, colours, extras.
  4. Shop pages — design what customers actually see.

If you are moving from another platform and already have a product list, skip step 2 and see Import a product catalogue instead.

Switching it off

The shop can be deactivated from your project thumbnail, using the Deactivate Shop option.
